Alice is a Pharmacist, registered with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia and member of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society MPS (RPh 516). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Science Malaysia, and Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, UK.
Alice is presently Executive Officer for PhAMA, and has worked there earlier as Regulatory Consultant. Presently active in regional activities as a member of APRIA (ASEAN Pharmaceutical Research Industry Association), the APAC (Asia Partnership Conference of Pharmaceutical Associations) Regulatory & Approvals Expert Working Group and Steering Committee, and the IFPMA Ethics & Business Integrity Committee (eBIC).
Currently an appointed industry representative in several Malaysian Ministry of Health committees – the National Rare Disease Committee (Orphan Drug Management Working Group), the National Committee for Bioequivalence Study, the Malaysian National Medicines Policy (DUNas) Committee for Quality-Safety-Efficacy component, and the Malaysian Pharmacy Board.
Alice is a certified trainer on Good Submission Practice from the 2016 APEC GRM COE Pilot Workshop. She has been actively involved with driving and organizing training programs for regulatory professionals in the Malaysian pharmaceutical industry.
She has worked 14 years in Ministry of Health, Malaysia covering various areas, and 18 years of management and leadership role in multinational pharmaceutical companies. She started her career with the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), Ministry of Health. She held several portfolios there, including Pharmaceutical Analyst of Analytical Laboratory, Registration Pharmacist of Registration Division and GMP Inspector of GMP & Licensing Unit. She also worked in the MoH’s Government Medical Store as Head of Quality Control Laboratory and in the Seremban Hospital. She later moved to industry as Regulatory Affairs Manager for Glaxo-Wellcome Malaysia and then worked in Roche Malaysia as the Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance Director covering Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
