Dr. Faridah received her pharmacy undergraduate training from the University Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang in 1985. Her subsequent higher qualifications were Msc in Pharmaceutical Services and Medicines Control from University of Bradford, UK and Diploma in Medical Microbiology from the Institute for Medical Research, Kuala Lumpur. She obtained her PhD in Pharmacoeconomics in 2006 from USM.
Dr. Faridah has been servicing the government departments under the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia for 34 years. A dedicated professional, benefiting from experience working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in Clinical Research Centre, and in the different administrations under the Ministry of Health. She has extensive experience in drug regulatory affairs working in various positions in the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) for over a period of 15 years in the early years of her service and she returned to NPRA in September 2016 for one and a half years as the Deputy Director for Centre for Product Registration and served as the Secretary to the Drug Control Authority. She was the Deputy Director for Pharmacy Practice and Development Division, MOH in charge of the Ministry of Health Medicines Formulary.
On the 25th March 2019, Dr. Faridah was appointed as the Director of NPRA and a year after that she became the Senior Director of Pharmaceutical Services since 13th March 2020.
